“The Orphanage” – Gettysburg PA

The orphanage has it’s roots in the Battle Of Gettysburg. It’s certainly one of the Must Go to spots for any investigator.

If you take one of the Tours you lean the sad and dark history of the Orphanage and how the place that had such good intentions went wrong.

You really get that sense when you go into the basement. There’s a table with toys all setup for the children to play with

It was probably just the feeling of being down there, but I couldn’t shake the sense that the Lion Toy was “Watching” the room.

In the side of the room you see a door (basically a wooden board on hinges).

Behind that door is a corridor which leads to “the pit.”

toys that spirits supposedly took off the table and put in the PIT

The pit is a very small “room” off the corridor in the basement. Children would be locked in the room for days in complete darkness. Supposedly spirits would take toys from the table would end up in the pit.

Our visit there was part of a tour, so we each only had a minute or two in the “pit” before we had to move on.

Once everyone was out of the pit and corridor it was dutifully closed back up again by the guide. We did manage to use our modified action camera to get a view down the darkened corridor.

Can you see anything lurking in the hall?
