Pennhurst Asylum – Mayflower Basement – Boiler Room/Music Room

Experiences in the Mayflower building are varied. We did end up throwing out a lot of potential evidence though due to we could not say with any certainty that much of what we were hearing, seeing, and recording was not being caused by other investigators.

Sound travels in these buildings, it travels far and travels fast.

Experiences: There were a lot of them, but the ones that stuck out are:

We both had the “sense” we were being followed.

Investigator Erica B. at one point described feeling the hairs on her arm starting to stand up possibly getting touched on her arm.

Investigator Tim B. got a suddenly got a chill and goose bumps at the same time Erica B. said she saw a shadow moving from the boiler room to the wall in the large room just outside of the boiler room.

Evidence:
Erica B. snapped these pictures where an unexplained “mist” can be seen:

The Mist came and went and was only visible on 2 Photos of a series of about 6 in total which were taken. These were taken immediately after seeing the Shadow and Tim felt the cooler air and goosebumps.

Here’s an audio clip from around the same time we captured in the room
You can hear a loud BANG followed what sounds like banging on the pipes:

Another in the basement of the Mayflower. If you listen carefully you can hear what sounds like breathing, and about 7 1/2 seconds in it sounds like something is trying to clear it’s throat.

In the Music Room it didn’t see like anything was going on, but upon evidence review we caught what sounds like bells. It has a similar sound to one that a child might put on a bike or maybe even wear on their shoes.
