Fort Mifflin – Officers Quarters Part 1 – The Door

A lot of things were going on in the officers quarters. We decided to start posting the information in multiple parts as we reviewed the evidence.

There were two rooms we could investigate as the rest of the building was closed.

We kept hearing a door opening and closing, it turns out it was the door in the other room.

Another team of investigators, some with Interstate Paranormal Research, went in the other room and were watching it for quite a while. They came into the room we were investigating, and asked if we had a video camera. Our investigator Erica B. went in to join them in the room. This is what they captured.

Here is the Thermal video you hear them mention in the video above. The ticking noise is from the Camera focusing and calibrating itself.



The importance of the thermal here is that when focused on the door (hard to see since the walls and door were pretty much the same temperature) there’s no real temperature change when the door opens. Since it was several degrees cooler outside, if it was the wind blowing the door open we would expect to see the temperature difference show up on the edge of the door.

At one point in the thermal video you can see when the window is brought into view, and you can see the significant temperature difference between outside temperature and in.

In the room we were in, our equipment was still running. You can hear another investigator asking anything to touch the Plasma Ball we had running and getting what might be an intelligent response from the Paralus app.



After a while the group that was in the second room left and came back with a larger group of investigators to observe what was happening with the door. They are asking whatever it is to open the door, and you can hear the responses that came from Paralus.



Was it coincidence that when they were asking it to open the door the response from Paralus was “Yourself” like it was saying do it yourself? Or after opening and closing the door it came back and said “heavy” since it was an old heavy wooden door? It’s impossible to say, but it is interesting.

Is it paranormal, or is it the wind and pressure changes, back draft? It’s hard to say right now. Further investigation would be needed to say for certain.
