LPPS Trigger Music Box
The LPPS Trigger Music Box is meat to be a stimulating trigger object. Resembling a simple Jewelry Music Box the idea is for it to be attractive enough to create enough curiosity to get an entity to approach it.
When activated play a pleasant musical tune (Canon for this particular build) using a classic mechanical music box mechanism.
It has visible trigger indication lighting up a green LED to show it has been activated. The light is positioned so it is visible if the box is opened, and if the box is closed you can still see it illuminate one of the motion sensors.
It employs both an Ultrasonic range finder and a PIR motion sensor.
The Ultrasonic sensor measures the distance between the box and any flat enough solid object in front of it, and if something moves between the sensor the distance reading changes triggering the box. The PIR sensor is the traditional motion sensor reading infrared light changes which occur in it’s field of view.
We hope that by employing both types of sensors we will have a greater chance of capturing any motion in front of the box.

This is our version 2.1 of the Music Box
As you can see, it looks more like a jewelry box, including trays to hold additional trigger objects, and the LED light moved to the back of the box since the odds are you are going to be observing it from the back.
